I believe an executive summary of the relevant thread would be 'London sucks. Don't touch him'.

Funny, Modeling Derivatives in C++ has outsold every other finance book (especially Duffy) except Hull. You should shut your Russian-Ukranian mouth shut while you continue to look for your first quantitative job.

I didn't make that up, I really got that email today. Is somebody feeling slightly insecure, would you think?

dude I only saying what the rest of the country is thinking...Fat Frank is an overhyped egotistical prat who has started belieiving his own hype....He palys well at Chelsea because he has Makelele and Essien with him..Take a random poll of all clubs below the Premiership and ask them which 1 English player they would most want in thier side...Fat Frank will be bottom of the list........

As for the JL email.....LOL

There appear to be three sorts of review of Justin London's book:

1: The worst book on quant programming it ever "written".

2: The worst book on programming of any kind ever written.

3: The best book ever written. Such reviews on Amazon are by what we call the friends of Justin London. Opinion on them is again divided.
There are those who are puzzled that the academics who praise his book cannot be found on Google, others simply think they are posted by one of the many voices in his head.

Several of us have received highly offensive Emails from "friends" of Justin London, attacking not only us but making remarks about our families that implies he has researched the topic.

Duffy has a good book, so does Joshi

London's books does indeed sell well, and in a spirit of full disclosure I was fool enough to buy it myself.
It looks like it covers things that are useful to know, but it does them very badly.
Very badly indeed.

However, I still have the book. Perhaps we ought to have some ceremony where we ceremonially burn it ?
