National Academies of Sciences: Student Graduate Research Program on Public Sector Aviation Issues

I am currently serving on the Transportation Research Advisory Board at the National Academies of Sciences. Serving on this board is very exciting. It gives me an opportunity to make a contribution in the field of aviation - which has been a great love of mine for years.

Here's how much I really like aviation: I had several student internships at NASA. While completing my Harvard doctorate in Applied Mathematics, I took flying lessons. Later, while on the faculty at MIT I was also selected as a semi-finalist for the NASA astronaut program. In addition, I spent some time as a faculty member doing research and working as a Welliver Fellow at Boeing. I am also on the faculty of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

So you see, I really like aviation! For graduate students who share my love of aviation, please apply for the Graduate Research Award Program on Public Sector Aviation Issues.
