Scandal politics are sweeping Capitol Hill.

Just days after news broke that the IRS targeted conservative nonprofits, Speaker John Boehner’s House committees will morph into mock courtrooms where the White House will be the defendant in what amounts to a number of high-stakes political trials.

The most recent scandal to grip the Obama administration came Monday evening, when The Associated Press disclosed that the Justice Department sought its reporters’ phone records — including those of correspondents who sit in the Capitol. Within hours, House Republicans vowed to investigate. To make things worse for President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder is scheduled to be on Capitol Hill Wednesday for a House Judiciary Committee hearing.

OK, lately I have not been getting lots of sleep - trying to finish a book, consulting, etc.

So, when I first saw this video I thought perhaps I did not "get it" because I was just a bit sleep deprived.

Nicolas Sarkozy’s defeat in the French presidential election makes him the ninth European leader to be booted out since the region’s debt crisis began.

Sanctioned for his flamboyant personal style and slowing economic growth, Sarkozy lost to Socialist Francois Hollande, who got 52 percent of the vote against 48 percent, five polling estimates showed. Sarkozy becomes the second French president to lose a re-election bid since World War II after former President Valery Giscard d’Estaing was vanquished in 1981.

Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has been forced to take a 36% pay cut. However, at $1.7 million a year, he's still one of best paid leaders in world.

Mr. Loong earns four times the salary of Obama and eight times the wage of Cameron. He will be taking a pay cut following public anger over income inequality.
